Paul Glaucoma Implant Operation in a Patient With Mucopolysaccaridosis Type VI

The mucopolysaccharidoses are a heterogeneous group of disorders caused by widespread accumulation of intra- and extracellular glycosaminoglycans systemically and within ocular tissues. In this video, Drs. Ali Olgun and Serhat Imamoglu present the case of a 13-year-old boy with both increased IOP and bilateral moderate-to-severe corneal clouding, who was eventually diagnosed as having mucopolysaccharidosis type VI (Maroteaux-Lamy Syndrome). It was decided to place a Paul glaucoma implant in this patient’s left eye.
