Why does everything look blue after cataract surgery?
JAN 10, 2024
Question:
I had cataract surgery about 2 weeks ago and had a monofocal lens put in. The main color I see now is blue/lilac. My two couches, which are beige now appear lilac. Will this improve?
Answer:
This will improve more once both eyes are done. Your cataract acts somewhat as a blue color blocker, so once removed, blues are more intense—even whites can have a touch of pink or blue. Once both eyes are done and a few months pass, this should normalize.
