    Comprehensive Ophthalmology, Retina/Vitreous

In this 1-Minute Video, Dr. Katherine Talcott shares her tips to detect hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) retinopathy, which can be hard to diagnose as changes are typically subtle. In line with the updated recommendations from 2016, Dr. Talcott begins annual screenings at 5 years. She uses objective measures such as OCT imaging as well as subjective measures like Humphrey visual field testing. On OCT imaging, she typically looks for parafoveal ellipsoid zone loss. Other factors to take into consideration include HCQ duration and dosage.
