Synopsis: This course is designed to help practice executives and managing physicians understand how practices can turn the challenges of the future into opportunities. In this interactive course, participants will learn about the trends that are shaping the business of ophthalmology and share what they are doing in their practices to prepare for the future. A model for conducting planning sessions will be presented and discussed. The target audience for this course includes practice administrators and physicians who have responsibility for analyzing, selecting and pursuing strategic options for their practices.


Objectives:
At the end of this course participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the trends affecting ophthalmology now and in the future;
  2. Know the basic strategic positions for ophthalmology practices and their strengths and weaknesses;
  3. List options practices are pursuing to take advantage of the forces shaping the business of ophthalmology; and
  4. Be able to implement planning processes within their practices.
