About PDF Files
The Academy uses Portable Document Files (PDFs) to make printed information such as brochures, registration forms and publications available online. Using this universal file format preserves the original document's design and allows readers to easily save and print files.
Downloading and Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader
To view PDF files, you must install Adobe's Acrobat Reader, a free software product that is easily downloaded online. To download and install Acrobat Reader, follow the instructions below:
- Visit the Adobe Acrobat Reader Web page.
- Follow the instructions on the page, making sure you select the correct version of Acrobat Reader for the computer platform and operating system you are using.
- After you have downloaded Acrobat by selecting Save, follow the installation instructions on-screen or on the Adobe Acrobat Web page.
Note: You must download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDF documents.

Viewing PDF Documents
PDF documents are automatically opened in your browser when you select a corresponding link on the Academy's Web site. The following tips will help you easily find information:

Once the document is displayed, select Find from the Edit menu to locate specific terms or references within the document.

Use the Next Page and Previous Page buttons to move forward and backward in the document.

Use the First Page and Last Page buttons to move to the beginning and end of the document.

Saving PDF Documents
To save a copy of a PDF document, follow the instructions below:
- Open the PDF document by selecting its corresponding link on the Academy's Web site.
- After the document opens, select Save As from the File menu.
- Choose a name and location for the document.
- Click the Save button to finish.
After saving a PDF document to your computer, you can read the file by double clicking its icon or by opening it directly in your browser.

Printing PDF Documents
To print a copy of a PDF document, follow the instructions below:
- Open the PDF document by selecting its corresponding link on the Academy's Web site.
- After the document opens, select Print from the File menu and select your print options.
- Click the OK button to finish.

- Open the PDF document by selecting its corresponding link on the Academy's Web site.
- After the document opens, select the Print icon on the Tool bar.

Troubleshooting
If you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader installed and still have trouble opening PDF files, try the following:
- Right-click on the PDF document's corresponding link on the Academy's Web site.
- Select Save Target As or Save Link As (depending on your browser version).
- Save the file to your computer.
- Once the file is saved, open it by double-clicking the file's icon or by opening it directly in your browser.
