AAO sponsors The Electronic Office: Integrating the Healthcare Environment (IHE) Eyecare Showcase. This annual event is a monumental effort by industry and user groups to implement standards into products that can be demonstrated on the Joint Meeting show floor.

The popularity of electronic health record (EHR) systems is on the rise. The benefits of adopting an electronic workflow are numerous – increased documentation, ready access to information, fewer medical errors, enhanced productivity and more. Visit the The Electronic Office and experience first-hand how integrating your practice management systems, digital imaging, devices and other medical instruments can improve efficiency and accuracy in your practice. Related presentations will be offered in the Technology Pavilion Theater.

Participating vendors in 2008 included Carl Zeiss Meditec, Compulink Business Systems, ifa Systems, Heidelberg Engineering, Kowa Optimed, Medflow, MDoffice, Nidek Incorporated, Ophthalmic Imaging Systems (OIS), Ophthalmic Technologies Inc. (OTI), Topcon Medical Systems, and VersaSuite.
