David A. Durfee, MD
Dr. Durfee returns to the Board of Trustees as Senior Secretary for Ophthalmic Practice in 2007. He has previously served as the Academy's Associate Secretary for Ophthalmic Practice from 1989 to 1991, and as Senior Secretary for Ophthalmic Practice from 1992 to 1996. He has served on many Academy committees, including the Practice Management Committee, Long Range Planning Committee, Awards Committee, Nominating Committee, Executive Committee and the Academy's Strategic Assessment Planning (ASAP) Committee. He returned as the Secretary for Practice Management from 2002-2006 as a Board member for the American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives (AAOE) from 2002 to present.
Dr. Durfee received his medical degree in 1968 and completed a residency in 1975, both at the University of Oregon Medical School.
Currently on extended sabbatical from clinical medicine, Dr. Durfee is clinical assistant professor, Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. He has been active in Oregon state medical associations for many years and is past president of the Oregon Academy of Ophthalmology.
