Articles of Incorporation - Define the Academy's purpose and structure.

Bylaws - Contain provisions concerning organization and meetings of the board; qualifications for membership; officers of the corporation and their duties; committees; liability and indemnification; conflict of interest; and other miscellaneous provisions.

Code of Ethics - The Academy’s Code of Ethics articulates both ethical ideals and the Academy’s minimum acceptable standards for ethical behavior for member ophthalmologists. Membership in the Academy is contingent upon to adherence to the rules of the Code of Ethics, and is enforceable in accordance with detailed administrative procedures. In addition to the code, the Academy also maintains a number of advisory opinions that explain and interpret the rules of the code.

Procedural Rules - Designate the standing committees and establish the rules for meetings and elections.
