This video demonstrates the implantation of the Argus II in 5 patients presenting with an advanced form of retinitis pigmentosa. One patient experienced elevated postoperative IOP, which was controlled medically. In another patient, moderate separation of the device from the retina occurred postoperatively and did not affect the result significantly. Neither wound dehiscence, endophthalmitis, nor retinal detachments were observed. Performance tests improved in all patients, with each able to locate a bright light in the exam room after surgery.
