New Corneal Imaging Devices: Clinical Examples and Applications

    AAO 2015
    Cataract/Anterior Segment, Refractive Mgmt/Intervention

This video discusses a novel prototype: swept-source microscope-integrated optical coherence tomography. SS-MIOCT combines microscope integration of OCT and allows for simultaneous surgery and imaging. As performed in the subject study, SS-MIOCT feedback-enhanced performance of trainee surgeons in select depth-based anterior-segment maneuvers had no effect on clear-cornea wound geometry. Thus SS-MIOCT can be used as a tool to both monitor and guide anterior-segment surgical maneuvers in real time and it demonstrates promise as a tool in the surgical training of ophthalmology residents.
