2008 Joint Meeting

Join the Academy in Atlanta for our 2008 Joint Meeting with the European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE). The meeting will take place at the Georgia World Congress Center from Nov. 8 to 11. It will be preceded by Subspecialty Day from Nov. 7 to 8.

Joint Meeting Keynote Speaker

Michael T. Osterholm, PhD, MPH will present the 2008 Joint Meeting keynote address during the Opening Session on Sunday, Nov. 9. Dr. Osterholm is a public health preparedness advocate and advisor to government agencies concerned with bioterrorism. He is a frequent consultant to the World Health Organization, the National Institutes of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, the Department of Defense, and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

In 2007, 4,183 international physicians and health professionals from 105 countries attended the Annual Meeting. International attendees are encouraged to review U.S. entry and visa requirements soon to avoid unnecessary delays. Print a letter of invitation and review other travel resources for international attendees.
