This video shows how to manage an IOL insertion when a haptic is missing or irreparably damaged. In 1 case the haptic detached as the IOL was implanted through the injector. The side port was enlarged and the haptic was reinserted into the tunnel of the optic. In another case, the trailing haptic fractured during implantation. The broken haptic is removed and a new haptic was harvested from a fresh IOL and inserted through the tunnel of the haptic.
