There has been exponential growth in angle surgery among adults diagnosed with open angle glaucoma over the last decade. Several micro-stent devices are currently being evaluated in international clinical trials while others are nearing commercialization. However, the rate-limiting step and key to successful angle surgery requires optimal visualization of angle anatomy with intraoperative direct gonioscopy.
