Silicone Oil Removal Through a Posterior Capsulotomy
Video Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery
Cataract/Anterior Segment, Refractive Mgmt/Intervention
Dr. Pavel Stodulka describes a 5-step femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery that required an anterior and posterior capsulotomy and silicone oil removal. Because a dense fibrotic membrane adhering to the posterior capsule proved impossible to remove, Dr. Stodulka performed a posterior capsulotomy to assist in removal and to allow for silicone oil evacuation. After the oil was removed a trifocal IOL was successfully implanted.
