Dr. Ehud Assia shows an innovative technique for repositioning a dislocated IOL, suturing the optic to the scleral wall. His 91-year-old patient fell and suffered a ruptured globe, hyphema, vitreous hemorrhage and total aniridia. The nasal haptic of the dislocated IOL was adhered to the cornea, providing the only support for the IOL. He shows how he sutures through the lens material to secure both haptics to the scleral wall. The patient’s vision improved from 20/200 to 20/50 postop and her quality of vision improved.
