Tightness in Head After Cataract Surgery
MAR 16, 2015
Question:
Is it common to feel tightness in the head after cataract surgery on one eye and no surgery yet on the other eye? The vision is blurry because of the imbalance. Does it cause any damage to wait to have surgery on the other eye and view things with no change yet in the prescription in the glasses for the operative eye?
Answer:
It can be hard to adjust to the visual challenges after surgery on one eye due to the imbalance between the operated eye and the unoperated eye that you describe. Ironically, the better the result on the "first eye," the more a patient may experience differences in images coming from each eye. There is no problem in delaying surgery on the second eye, but this should be discussed with your ophthalmologist.
