I've been diagnosed with map dot fingerprint dystrophy and am scheduled to have cataracts removed in less than a month. Are there any additional risks associated with surgery?

Answer:
This dystrophy is frequently a very unpredictable problem, and flare-ups can occur any time. But as a disorder involving the front of the cornea, it should not have an impact on the success of a routine cataract procedure.
