Can I Drive If I Have Adie’s Pupil?
OCT 09, 2014
Question:
Can I still drive a car if I have Adie's pupil (a pupil that reacts slowly to light)?
Answer:
Adie’s does not usually affect the basic focusing power of the eye. It affects accommodation (focusing) and light intensity adjustment. You can thus drive a car and might only have a problem with rapid changes in light intensity such as with oncoming headlights at night or leaving a darkish tunnel and entering bright sunlight. You can compensate for these so you, in fact, can safely drive a car.
