Academy Urges Congress to Allow Coding Grace Period after ICD-10 Start Date
Along with other physician organizations, the Academy is urging Congress to institute a transition period following the Oct. 1 start date of the new ICD-10 code set. The Academy is advocating that during this period, physicians not be unfairly penalized for coding mistakes, coding errors or technical system malfunctions.
