Surgery Center Encounters May No Longer Be Counted Towards Physicians’ Meaningful Use Requirements
Meeting requirements for the Medicare Electronic Health Record Incentive Program may soon get easier for physicians who treat patients at ambulatory surgery centers. The U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate have passed legislation that would exempt procedures that are performed in ASCs from counting towards physicians’ meaningful use requirements.
