    Alcon’s Acrysof IQ PanOptix trifocal IOL has received European CE mark for patients undergoing cataract surgery, according to a release from Novartis.

    The IOL is indicated for adult patients with and without presbyopia undergoing cataract surgery who want near, intermediate and distance vision with increased spectacle independence, according to the release.

    “The AcrySof IQ PanOptix trifocal IOL is a significant innovation which further augments Alcon’s presbyopia correcting portfolio,” Franck Leveiller, head of research and development of Alcon’s surgical franchise, said in the release.
