Patient with bilateral, somewhat asymmetric papilledema. a. A line scan through the papillo-macular bundle demonstrating retro-displacement of the end of the RPE [blue arrows]. b. A line scan through the optic disc. Notice the dark halo around each optic disc on the infrared which indicates the loss of the translucent character of the retinal nerve fiber layer. The image of the optic disc on the upper right shows disc elevation and with a V-shaped optic cup, a common OCT finding in papilledema. In the image on the lower right, the cup has been obliterated by the swelling and elevation of the disc.
