Capsule retractors used to support capsular bag/lens complex for phacoemulsification of dense cataract in a patient with severe zonular deficiency. a. Use of trypan blue ophthalmic solution facilitates the visualization of the anterior capsule rim for easier and more precise placement of capsule retractors. b. The tension on the retractors is just enough to secure the capsular bag at the level of the equator but not so much as to tent the anterior capsule, which would increase the risk that it could tear out during surgery.
