    Ocular Pathology/Oncology

Histology of conjunctival extranodal marginal zone B‑cell lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) type. H&E-stained preparation demonstrates a diffuse proliferation of small lymphocytes with mildly irregular nuclear contours, inconspicuous nucleoli, and scant cytoplasm. Immunohistochemical staining shows that the atypical lymphocytes are CD20+ B cells, which coexpress CD43 and are negative for CD5, CD10, and CD23. Rare reactive T cells are CD3+, CD5+, and CD43+. The disrupted follicular dendritic meshworks of the residual germinal center are highlighted with CD23 immunostain. Rare germinal center B cells are CD10+.
