AAO 2014 will take place in McCormick Place's North, South and Lakeside buildings. The convention center has undertaken a number of improvements since the Academy met there in 2012, creating a friendlier environment with amenities required for today's meeting attendee, including:
- A Wi-Fi system upgrade that now supports more than 45,000 attendees in the course/session rooms and lobby areas.
- Twenty Third Street Café, a new dining option in the Grand Concourse, offering grab-and-go selections made with locally sourced ingredients.
- A new rooftop vegetable garden – the largest in Chicago – for a new farm-to-table catering concept.
