- Reservations for marketing and direct marketing opportunities will be accepted starting April 1.
- Marketing Opportunities are not limited to those listed in the Promotional Opportunities Brochure. The Academy is willing to work with exhibiting companies to explore potential marketing partnerships.
Marketing Opportunities Current Availability
Support the 2012 Joint Meeting and enhance your presence by reserving any of the marketing opportunities outlined below. The Academy publicizes to attendees in pre-meeting communication materials specific areas and products such as the AAO Connect, Abstracts on CD, Mobile Meeting Guide, International Center and Wi-Fi Lounge. The list below will be updated as reservations are secured.
Policies
- Marketing opportunities are available exclusively to companies who exhibit at the Joint Meeting.
- All opportunities are available on a first-come basis.
- All advertising agencies and marketing companies must submit a Third Party Authorization Letter (PDF 133KB) in order to secure a Joint Meeting marketing or direct marketing opportunity. Reservations will not be processed without the Third Party Authorization Letter.
- Artwork deadlines are strictly enforced to ensure production schedule is met.
- Payment is due net 30 days from invoice date. Companies whose payments are over 60 days late will not be allowed to reserve opportunities for 2013 until two week after reservations open.
- Rates and availability are subject to change in 2013.
How to Reserve a Marketing Opportunity
Confirmation
- You will be e-mailed a confirmation letter verifying the opportunity reserved within one week.
- Once an opportunity is reserved, a Corporate Partnership Agreement will be sent to each company detailing the marketing opportunity.
- Corporate Partnership Agreements must be counter-signed and returned within 15 days. If the agreement is not returned within 15 days, the opportunity will be available to another company.
- There is a 100% cancellation fee after the agreement is signed.
Joint Meeting Support
Your organization can provide support for the 2012 Joint Meeting by participating in one of four support levels:
- Platinum
- Gold
- Silver
- Bronze
By providing support, your company will be helping the Academy fulfill its mission of advancing the education of ophthalmologists. Joint Meeting Industry Support will be recognized on signage in the convention center.

Subspecialty Day Support
This year’s Subspecialty Day meetings will include two-day programs on Refractive Surgery and Retina, and five one-day programs on Cornea, Glaucoma, Oculofacial Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Uveitis.
The Academy will feature the following two opportunities for each Subspecialty Day meeting:
