All presentation screens at the Annual Meeting will be 16:9 widescreen format. Computers and projectors will be configured for 1280 x 720 resolution.
To take full advantage of the new widescreen format, every presenter must either convert their pre-existing presentation or develop a new presentation in the 16:9 format. If presenters use the 4:3 format aspect ratio, the presentation will still display, but will be "pillar boxed" on the 16:9 screen as shown at left.
If you expand an existing presentation to the 16:9 format:
- You may need to resize objects like videos or photos so they do not appear stretched.
- Check animations to ensure the elements line up correctly.

Converting Your Presentation
To take advantage of the 16:9 widescreen format, follow the directions below and view the video tutorials to help you adjust your presentation.
PC Computer
For PowerPoint 2007 and 2010 to create a new presentation:
- On the "Design" tab select "Page Setup".
- In the drop down box, select "On-Screen Show (16:9)".
- Click "OK".
For Powerpoint 2010 to convert an existing presentation:
- Create a new PowerPoint.
- Go to the FILE menu and select PAGE SETUP. At the SIZE selection; change WIDTH to 13.33 inches. This will maintain the vertical height at 7.5 inches, which is very important to prevent the pinching of objects in the slides. Click OK.
- Copy the contents of the 4:3 slides, not the actual slides, into the new 16:9 slides/presentation. This should prevent the contents of the original 4:3 presentation from pinching when pasted into the 16:9 presentation.
- Each slide will have to be rebuilt with this sequence.
