Registration Categories


AAO 2014 Registration Category Definitions

Academy Member
  • Includes active Fellows, Members, Members in Training, Confirmed Candidates, Associate Members, Industry Members, Life Members and International Members.
  • 2014 dues must be paid.
Retired Academy Member
  • Includes retired Fellows and Members.
Nonmember Physician in Training
  • Including residency program and fellowship participants.
  • Proof of in-training status must be submitted at the time of registration.
AAOE Member
  • You must be a full benefits member by Sept. 24 to qualify.
  • Does not include AAOE Biller/Coder members. See Health Professional.
Health Professional
  • Including PhDs, DVMs, COEs, MBAs, healthcare administrators, technicians, assistants, nurses, office support staff, medical students, interns, orthoptists, ophthalmic photographers, AAOE Biller/Coder members and other health professionals.
  • Does not include optometrists or commercial representatives.
  • Health professionals who wish to attend a related group meeting must register for it separately.
  • JCAHPO registrants purchasing an AAO 2014 pass and ASORN registrants do not need to register for AAO 2014 separately in order to attend.
Spouse/Guest
  • A co-worker or an associate within the industry may not use the guest registration category.
  • Available to those attending on a social basis only who are age 18 and above.
Youth
  • Age 17 and under.
  • Children may visit the Exhibition if accompanied by an adult but cannot be admitted to Subspecialty Day or AAO 2014 scientific sessions, instruction courses or any other aspect of the Scientific Program due to the scientific nature of the educational programs and the Academy's desire to maintain an environment conducive to learning.
Commercial Representative
  • Commercial Representatives are defined as non-physician employees of a commercial company including credentialed individuals, such as PhD, PharmD, or MBA.
  • Commercial companies are defined as those involved in research, development, production, manufacturing and/or sales of ophthalmic related products or services. This includes but is not limited to start-up and research companies.
  • The Commercial Representative registration category is for those who have a legitimate educational or business reason for attending AAO 2014 but do not have a product or service to exhibit. Please review and submit the Commercial Representative Inquiry Form (PDF 120KB).
  • Employees of an exhibiting company are registered under that company's participation as Exhibitor Representatives.
  • Commercial Representatives who register for AAO 2014 in any other category will have their registration cancelled and payments refunded.
  • Commercial Representatives may register for any Subspecialty Meeting.


Subspecialty Day Registration Category Definitions

ISRS Member
  • Must be an active ISRS member with 2014 dues paid.
  • This registration category is available only to members registering for the Refractive Surgery Subspecialty Day meeting.
ISRS Member in Training
  • Must be an active ISRS member with 2014 dues paid.
  • This registration category is available only to members registering for the Refractive Surgery Subspecialty Day meeting.
Nonmember Physician in Training
  • Proof of in-training status must be submitted at the time of registration.
AAOE Member, Health Professional
