Mid-Year Forum Overview

The 2012 Mid-Year Forum will be held from April 25 to 28 at the Renaissance Downtown in Washington, D.C.

Registration is now available for the Mid-Year Forum.

This annual forum provides an opportunity for Academy members, leaders and leaders of allied ophthalmic organizations to identify and discuss critical issues facing ophthalmology. 

Benefits of attendance:

  • Provide valuable contributions to Academy policy development.
  • Learn more about Academy activities and initiatives.
  • Return to your state, subspecialty or specialized interest society armed with the latest information.
MYF Dinner Keynote Speaker:
Katty Kay, lead anchor of BBC World News America, will discuss "Washington and the 2012 Elections from a Different Angle" during the Thursday, April 26, MYF Awards Banquet Dinner.

Congressional Advocacy Day
Advocacy Day 2012 will be held April 25 to 26 in conjunction with the Mid-Year Forum. During Congressional Advocacy Day, Academy members were educated about legislative issues relevant to the Academy and the ophthalmic profession. Academy members will met with their U.S. senators and representatives to present the concerns and positions of the Academy and the profession. 

Council Meeting
The Council will meet in conjunction with the Mid-Year Forum from April 27 to 28.
