YO Info is the Academy's e-newsletter for young ophthalmologists (YOs), which includes those in training or in their first few years of practice. News and Notices for International Members is a quarterly electronic newsletter developed for Academy members practicing outside the United States. Annual Meeting International Center
The Academy offers a lounge specifically for international attendees at the Academy's Annual Meeting. The International Center is an ideal place to meet with or leave notes for fellow international attendees and to learn more about Academy programs for international ophthalmologists. Spanish, Portuguese and French-speaking interpreters are available to assist you with Annual Meeting details and other issues regarding your stay in Orlando. Admittance is by attendee badge.
International Ophthalmologist Education Award
The International Ophthalmologist Education Award was developed to recognize international Academy members who pursue lifelong education in ophthalmology. To qualify, international members need to complete 90 continuing education (CME) credits over a period of three years. Half the credits must be Academy-sponsored CME. To apply go to www.aao.org/international/intedawards.cfm. After applying, members are responsible for recording their Academy and non-Academy CME on their online CME transcript at www.aao.org/cme. Award recipients are honored with a certificate and recognized in EyeNet and Academy Express. (This award is only for international members who have completed their training.)
