Category III code changes include a new code, changed descriptor, as well as, a deleted code.

• 0402T Collagen cross-linking of cornea (including removal of the corneal epithelium and intraoperative pachymetry when performed) can’t be billed in conjuction with 65435 Removal of corneal epithelium; with or without chemocauterization (abrasion, curettage), 66990 Use of ophthalmic endoscope (List separately in addition to code for primary procedure) or 76514 Ophthalmic ultrasound, diagnostic; corneal pachymetry, unilateral or bilateral (determination of corneal thickness). The code will sunset January 2021.

Δ 0308T Insertion of ocular telescope prosthesis including removal of crystalline lens or intraocular lens prosthesis

0123T Fistulization of sclera for glaucoma, through ciliary body has been deleted with instructions to use the unlisted code 66999 if fistulization of sclera for glaucoma, through ciliary body is performed.
