Billing a PPV, lensectomy, cataract extraction and IOL insertion
Question: I would like guidance coding the following procedure. Our physician performed a pars plana vitrectomy, lensectomy, anterior chamber intraocular lens and cataract extraction OD.
Answer: CPT code 67036 PPV and CPT code 66984 Cataract extraction and insertion of IOL are the appropriate codes.
