Decorative contact lenses purchased without a prescription can result in eye infections or worse. To address this public-health problem, the Academy is working with several organizations to educate the public about the dangers presented by improperly used or acquired decorative lenses.

How to report decorative lens-related problems
To help the FDA and FTC with enforcement of existing contact-lens regulations, it is important to report any decorative lens-related eye infections or injuries you treat. Adverse reactions and other problems should be reported to the FDA's MedWatch program.
