A 56-year-old Chinese woman presented with left eye pain, redness and blurring of vision for a duration of one month. She had no medical history of note.

On examination, her visual acuity was 6/6 in the right eye and 6/12 in the left. IOP was 16 mmHg in the right eye and 18 mmHg in left. She was noted to have a superficial corneal lesion in the left eye (as depicted in the slit-lamp photos). Her anterior segment was deep and quiet, and fundus examination was normal. Her right eye was normal to examination. Following topical antiviral treatment and one-month follow-up, the lesion had resolved with a faint scar, and she had recovered a visual acuity of 6/9 in the left eye.
