Laser Photocoagulation System OD-OS announced that it has earned FDA 510(k) clearance to market Navilas for image-guided treatment of retinal disorders. The company states that the laser system incorporates advanced imaging with retinal laser therapy using image registration in one device with integrated workflow to improve the safety, accuracy, speed, comfort and transparency of retina laser photocoagulation. Navilas is intended to allow physicians the ability to move beyond conventional slit lamp–based photocoagulation. This system produces a live image of the fundus in true color, infrared and red-free as well as fluorescein angiography with a 50-degree field of view—pan-able across the fundus. OD-OS Graether Toric System ASICO has introduced the Graether system for toric surgery. Its design features an intraop marker and degree gauge. The marker is intended to fit precisely into the degree gauge for accurate marking and highest visibility as well as to provide a gap of 6 mm between the marks for a capsulotomy guide. ASICO Forceps With Ruler Bausch & Lomb Storz has announced the U.S. release of the E2013T MICS Capsulorhexis Forceps With Seibel Ruler. The newest addition to the line of MICS 1.8-mm capsulorhexis forceps, this instrument is designed for creating the capsulorhexis during microincision cataract surgery. The Seibel Ruler, etched on the top of the instrument shaft, is used for determining the diameter for capsulorhexis and is intended to be useful when a specific capsulorhexis diameter is required for a particular lens implant. The serrated forceps tips are designed to provide excellent grasp of the capsule. This instrument requires the E2013H MICS Capsulorhexis Forceps Handle, which is sold separately.
