Chronic Persistent Visual Loss: Amblyopia

What Causes It?

Amblyopia means visual acuity loss from underdeveloped visual pathway connections between the eye and the brain. It occurs in early childhood from misalignment of the eyes (strabismus), markedly unequal refractive errors in the two eyes (anisometropia), congenital cataract, or congenital ptosis.
