Pupils
The pupil exam requires careful technique to assess these features:
- The size of the pupils in dim illumination. (You are looking for a difference in pupil size, called anisocoria.)
- The reactions of the pupils to direct light. (You are looking for a diminished constriction.)
- The reactions of the pupils to a swinging light. (You are looking for a relative afferent pupil defect.)
