  • There are 1,452 U.S. members over the age of 80.
  • Alaska, Delaware, South Dakota and Wyoming all have one member-in-training each.
  • Idaho, Rhode Island and Vermont have just two physician members each.
  • California has the most members-in-training at 343 for the state. New York isn't far behind with 291, and Texas is third with 188.
  • When it comes to physician members, California still has the most with 245, then New York with 125, and Florida comes in third with 110.
  • There is just one state with more female members-in-training than male MITs—New Mexico (three women versus two men). Ironically, there is just one state with more female physician members than male—Delaware (again, three women versus two men).

  • The following countries all have one international physician member: Bahrain, Belize, Ethiopia, Finland, Iceland, Jordan, Lithuania, Madagascar, Malawi, Mongolia, Morocco, Norway, Russia, Scotland, Slovenia, Ukraine and Zambia.
