Chronic Macular Hole Repair with Human Amniotic Membrane Graft

    1-Minute Video; YO Video Competition

    Retina/Vitreous

In this 1-Minute Video, Dr. Sana Idrees presents a case of a 58-year-old man with a chronic macular hole initially discovered during prior repair of a macula-involving retinal detachment. The macular hole failed to close after vitrectomy and tamponade without inner limiting membrane (ILM) peeling. Surgical repair with vitrectomy, ILM peeling, and pre-retinal placement of human amniotic membrane over the macular hole was subsequently planned. This video was awarded third place in the 2020 YO Video Competition.
