    Counterclockwise Toric Rotation

    Cataract/Anterior Segment

Dr. Morgan Micheletti demonstrates how to safely rotate a toric IOL counterclockwise when the toric marks over-rotate clockwise. The advantage is that it will minimize in-the-bag IOL manipulation after removal of the ophthalmic viscosurgical device; this is accomplished by decreasing the required rotation from 160°–179° clockwise to only 1°–19° counterclockwise by gently bringing the distal haptic toward the optic.
