    Retina/Vitreous, Vitreoretinal Surgery

Dr. Rohit Adyanthaya performs a phacovitrectomy in a patient with visually significant cataract and diabetic tractional retinal detachment (RD). He first addresses the cataract, using a horizontal phaco-chop technique followed by implanting the lens in the bag. The peripheral vitreous cone is trimmed and the membranes are lifted off the retina using a pick. A chandelier light is inserted for bimanual surgery and the fibrous bands are dissected off the retina.
