Efficacy of Intracameral Phenylephrine-lidocaine in Cataract Surgery
01:15
Cataract/Anterior Segment
Dr. Samuel Barry presents the case of a patient undergoing immediate sequential bilateral cataract surgery (also called bilateral same-day cataract surgery) to demonstrate the efficacy of intracameral phenylephrine-lidocaine. A resident surgeon spends 20 minutes performing the surgery on the eye receiving intracameral preservative-free phenylephrine and lidocaine. An experienced attending surgeon spends 10 minutes operating on the fellow eye, which exhibited intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS), serving as a control.
