In this 1-Minute Video, Dr. Neil Bressler offers advice on how to treat patients with persistent diabetic macular edema. Findings from the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network's (DRCR.net) Protocol T suggest starting with 6 monthly injections of anti-VEGF therapy. Beyond 6 months, anti-VEGF therapy can be halted if the edema is stable. Injections can be resumed if the vision or edema begins to worsen.
