Nitinol Flex Loop for Assisting Refixation of a Subluxed IOL

In this 1-Minute Video, Dr. Jason Hsu uses a flexible 27-gauge nitinol loop membrane scraper (FINESSE Flex loop; Alcon) to lasso the haptics of a subluxed IOL and refixate it using a sutureless intrascleral fixation technique. The flex loop was designed for peeling membranes on the retinal surface and may prove safer than forceps for retrieving and refixating IOLs, particularly when the lens is sitting on the retinal surface.
