Pearls for Imaging Uveitis Patients

In this 1-Minute Video, Dr. Sunil Srivastava offers advice on how to use imaging techniques when caring for patients with uveitis. Begin with a clinical exam to pinpoint the location of the inflammation. Then, Dr. Srivastava primarily uses 3 imaging techniques: OCT, indocyanine green and fluorescein angiography. Due to its noninvasive nature, he uses OCT to image the retina on almost every single patient. Indocyanine green is typically used for choroidal disease, whereas fluorescein angiography is a good tool to unmask any inflammation in the choroid or the retina. These imaging tools offer a way to monitor progression and/or response to therapy, he concludes.
