In this 1-Minute Video, Dr. Lee Jampol discusses the relationship between visual acuity and central subfield thickness (CST) in patients with diabetic macular edema. Findings from Protocol T, he explains, show that CST may be a poor predictor of visual acuity. Considering other assessments such as cysts and photoreceptors via OCT imaging may offer additional indicators of a patient's visual outcome.
