Transient Visual Loss: When is it Urgent?

In cases of retinal transient ischemia, it is important to make a quick and accurate diagnosis because patients have a high risk of stroke within the first few days after the onset of visual loss. She advises immediately directing patients to a stroke neurologist. Dr. Biousse and her colleagues published guidelines to manage acute retinal ischemia in the October 2018 issue of Ophthalmology.
