Adventures in the Investigation of Sulcus-Fixated/Piggyback IOLs

In this video, pseudophakic human cadaver eyes are used for the injection of piggyback lenses into the ciliary sulcus. The eyes are evaluated by ultrasound and a posterior view to assess centration. The authors show that both a 3-piece silicone and a 1-piece hydrophilic acrylic IOL exhibit good centration with minimal tilt, as well as good clearance from the primary bag-fixated IOL and iris. A new accommodating IOL also demonstrates promising results.
