Glaucoma
In this presentation from the 2012 Annual Meeting, Dr. Joel Schuman provides an overview of the benefits and drawbacks of various methods of anterior segment imaging, including ultrasound biomicroscopy, anterior segment OCT, and Scheimpflug photography. In addition to being powerful diagnostic tools, UBM and AS-OCT are also powerful patient education tools, producing images capable of showing patients the nature of their disease and the necessity for treatment. Dr. Schuman details other applications for anterior segment imaging such as tumor detection, corneal evaluation, and assessment of aqueous outflow.
