In this video presentation, Drs. Constance Okeke and Kyle Den Beste discuss the use of avelox, which has been linked to bilateral acute iris transillumination (BAIT). They detail a case of a 55-year-old patient who developed BAIT following use of avelox for pneumonia and the subsequent consequences and surgical management. The patient's IOP was uncontrolled, in the mid 30s, and she experienced significant visual-field loss. She underwent cataract extraction with synechialysis and trabeculectomy, which successfully controlled the pressure.
